Have you ever been smack-dab in the middle of doing something when you realized — oopsie! — you don’t dig whatever you are doing as much as you thought you would? In the midst of painting my home office, I experienced that very sort of unsettling epiphany that ultimately led me to this point: creating an office mood board and swooning over the bright and breezy boho beach-chic work space of my dreams.
Let’s zip back in time for a minute, back to the olden days when my office was electric mustard yellow. What in the name of all that is holy is electric mustard yellow, you ask? Well, I’ll defer to my previous post on the subject of a potential office overhauls. But, in short, it ain’t pretty. In fact, you might want to snag a pair of sunglasses before you even attempt to take a gander.
As any reasonable woman is wont to do, I spend a lot of time on Pinterest. Clearly, this means I have wholly unrealistic hopes and desires for transforming my humdrum home office into one of those ethereal white work spaces all the far more put-together humans of the world have.
After going back and forth a bit (in my head, with my head — oy!) about paint colors, I did indeed decide to slap some white on these walls . . . not just for aesthetic reasons, but also because I feel as though it will reflect more light from the one window I have in here.
Plus, I really love color! If you know me, you know this well. I want to be able to add in pops of bright color without it feeling overwhelming. Thus bringing us to the present, and the creation of a mood board indicative of what my Pinterest-obsessed heart currently craves.
I plan to begin the painting process next week, so bear with me for future updates. Oh happy day when this home office is mine!

Love, love this office mood board! It’s so chic, fresh and inspiring! Thanks for sharing it:)
Thanks so much, Andrea!
I love the colors you’ve curated! It would make a beautiful space I’m sure!

Thanks, Riah! I sense we have similar aesthetics 😉
Giiiiiirl! I love this! Warning, though: I sat in a chair in Heaven (I mean, at HomeGoods) that looked exactly the same. The seat tilts! Like… really far back. It frightened the bejesus out of me. Much to my chiropracter’s chagrin, I like to sit “Indian style” on my chair at my desk. I loooove the depth and width of it. But it was just so tilt-y that I felt unbelievably unstable. So, make sure you can return it, if you hate it!
Deeeeeee, thanks for reading, babe <3 This is good to know! I am always drawn to big cushy looking office chairs like this, but realistically I feel like I probably need something without any arms because I sit all crazy in my chair and spin around and all sorts of non-grown-up like things, haha.
You know that is the look I was going for in my guest bath Jules!I was (in my head)calling it Vintage Hawaiian Boho….the ocean colors and wood together reminded me of the cool surfing communities we visited in Hawaii back when yall were little. .Love your ideas:)and you!Mama.
